It is a pain that may occur from the upper part of the neck, part of the head or the face and mostly the whole head entirely can give out some sort of a throbbing pain, but honestly there are so many different kinds – approximately around 150 types of headaches!

Common Types Of Headaches
There are hundreds of types of headaches out there as previously mentioned, however there are around four types that are common in everyday life and they include tension, migraine, cluster and sinus.
A rare type of headache and can be extremely sore and painful that can happen out of the blue.
Some say that certain triggers can bring this type of headache on due to something that your body just doesn’t agree with such as alcohol, perfume or even certain drugs, more studies needs to be done as the cause is unknown. It is best to avoid those kind of factors if you feel is the cause.
If you are feeling down or stressed regularly or even listening to loud music on a daily basis can offset a tension headache.
Normally, the muscles tightens around the neck, head and even behind the eyes and it doesn’t usually last for too long.
This can feel heavy and extremely painful usually around one side of the head. It can stop you from functioning and carrying out daily activities and most people like to lie down and wait it out.
You may feel other symptoms occur as a result of the extreme pain such as feeling sick, faint or unable to concentrate. It may last for hours or even days but some people may not even experience those symptoms at all.
If you have an infection, such a cold or flu then a mucus buildup occurs in the sinuses areas (typically within the nose and further up) which results in too many bacteria occurring and irritating the sinus areas. Allergies can also allow for a sinus headache to occur and may feel a sharp ache on the face, forehead and can include a blocked nose.
Some types of headaches can come and go quite quickly, others can occur in quite quickly and some headaches just keep on coming back which begs the question that more care needs to happen to our environment, to allow for more positivity in our lives and to learn more about alternatives that can truly help our health.
How to Avoid Headaches
While we don’t really know the true cause of certain headaches and more research certainly needs to be done, we must rely on our approach to a better lifestyle and a positive mind-set. Research suggests that feeling good can help to flourish in all aspects of life as indicated by top psychologist, professor Barbara Fredrickson,
“I think of positive emotions as nutrients. In the same way that we need to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables to be healthy, we need a variety of positive emotions in our daily experience to help us become more resourceful versions of ourselves,’
In any case, we do always have to look at the bigger picture, as the say and really understand the factors that may contribute to feeling less pressure to the head:-
- Eat healthy! You may have heard too many a time but we just had to throw this one in, as some people don’t really know the seriousness of eating well and right!
Eating a varied diet is ideal but keeping in mind that more wholesome foods should be consumed rather than overly processed foods. ‘We are what we eat,’ reflects the importance of the foods that we should consume, must provide nutrition, good energy and benefits to our bodies.
- Water – Water is vital for the normal functioning of your body. Drinking water helps to flush out many toxins from your body and keeping your body hydrated as well. Without it, it can be difficult to function normally and you may feel dizzy as a result.
- Meditation or breathing exercises -Since ancient times, meditation was strongly linked to its anxiolytic properties, which is the reason most people perform this activity.
In a classic 2014 meta-analysis, experts concluded that mindfulness can reduce the risk of anxiety, depression, and other mental health disorders if practiced regularly.
- Be mindful to your feelings – Holding onto negative feelings can allow you to understand the situation better sometimes, but holding onto these feelings for far too long allows your good energy to be drained and taken from you which will result in weighing you down and does you absolutely no favors. It may arouse ill symptoms.
- Herbs/Herbal teas – Herbs contain antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti fungal properties, this is something that should not be ignored or deemed of not true worth.
Since ancient times, herbs and plants were used extensively for human diseases and ailments across the world.
We all know how to look after ourselves, some more than others but the factors described are a step in the right direction and which will hopefully move you forward to a rewarding and fulfilling path, no matter small or big;) Everything counts!
